Meetup is a great place to Learn Stuff

Meetup is a cool site where you can join groups to learn stuff.  I go to lots of technology focused meetups.

For example this "Get Started with Artificial Intelligence! An activity for the whole family" meetup is happening this next Saturday up near Great America

Bring the whole family to this Get Started with AI! event Saturday, 8/17, from 3:30-5:30PM in Santa Clara. The event is free but please register so that we know how many attendees to expect.

We will start with our hosts (Sindhu and I) giving an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and showing some examples of what kids can build with AI. Next, we will show some projects that you can try during the event to build AI programs to Guess a Person's Mood. We will have some laptops to show the projects but you can also bring your own laptop and try it out for yourself!

The projects are most suitable for kids 9 years and older. They do not need to know any programming, but if they do, they can use it with the activity.

WoHooooooo... Welcome To Mechatronics Engineering.

Today is going to be a bit crazy, but lets dive right in. Not sure what we are going to get done, but we will talk about the following...

You can always find this blog by going to WWW.STEAMCLOWN.ORG

The Class Site will always be linked to Mechatronics Engineering Google Site
Special Instructions: Buckle Up... Here we go...

Who Is Mr. Burnham and What is Mechatronics Engineering

Dear Mechatronics Students and Parents

I’m Mr. Burnham, and I’m super excited about the Mechatronics class this year. I just wanted
to say Hi, and point you at some sites that may help you get ready. You may have seen one
of my recruiting presentations at your home high school… If you did, then you know that we are
going to do some crazy Engineering, like building stuff like
 FIRE Breathing Robots. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNs4G2rKGOE )

What is my Mechatronics Engineering Class At SVCTE Like? Watch this lIntroduction Video... Sorry, It's 30 min long...

How can you help?  I’m all about having Industry Professionals come talk to my class, so if you
or someone you know is involved in Electronics, Mechanics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, or
any other Engineering field, please contact me.  I would really like to plan a class guest speaker
visit with you. Also if you can help us plan a cool field trip to local Companies or Manufacturing
plants, I want to talk to you too...

I'll present these in class, but if you want to get a quick introduction to me and the class, here is another overview presentation:

¿QuiĆ©n es el Sr. Burnham?

Hands on Physics <-- this will be interleaved as part of the other modules but will satisfy the

A-G "D" Physics requirement
  • AC/DC Electronic Fundamentals
  • Digital Electronic Fundamentals
  • Programming with Microcontrollers
  • Programmable Logic Devices
  • Mechanical 3D design & mechanical drawing
  • Robotic Theory and Application
  • Pneumatic Systems
For even more information on what we will be doing, take a look at the course outline.  It’s ambitious,
but my goal is to touch on all of this, this year. MechatronicsCourseOutline.pdf
