        Meet Your Teacher Night (08/10/201)

        Dear Mechatronics Students and Parents
I’m Mr. Burnham, and I’m super excited about the Mechatronics class next year. I just wanted
to say Hi, and point you at some sites that may help you get ready. You may have seen one
of my recruiting presentations at your home high school… If you did, then you know that we are
going to do some crazy Engineering, like building

I hope you can make the “Meet Your Teacher” tonight, Friday Aug 10 at 6:15-7:30 pm in my
Mechatronics Engineering room 709.  I will give a short presentation at 6:20 and then be available
        to answer any questions.

How can you help?  I’m all about having Industry Professionals come talk to my class, so if you
or someone you know is involved in Electronics, Mechanics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, or
any other Engineering field, please contact me.  I would really like to plan a class guest speaker
visit with you. Also if you can help us plan a cool field trip to local Companies or Manufacturing
plants, I want to talk to you too...

Here is a link to a PDF which is a Mechatronics Overview,
        (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1O2vJL0mdGbKxY-pNHBcvqYlR4V3XERw3) and gives a high
level introduction to what we will be learning.

Hands on Physics <-- this will be interleaved as part of the other modules but will satisfy the
        A-G "D" Science requirement
        • AC/DC Electronic Fundamentals
        • Digital Electronic Fundamentals
        • Programing with Microcontrollers
        • Programmable Logic Devices
        • Mechanical 3D design & mechanical drawing
        • Robotic Theory and Application
        • Pneumatic Systems
For even more information on what we will be doing, take a look at the course outline.  It’s ambitious,
but my goal is to touch on all of this, this year. MechatronicsCourseOutline.pdf
