OK, we will spend the the 8:30-9:30 and 2:00-3:00 of Wednesday's Focus Class talking about the 8 Bit Computer and what you should be working on.   Basically find the place you are in the flow in the 8 bit Computer Build Page from Focus on Foundations page and keep working. It is best to use the Focus on Foundations SLACK channel to ask for support questions... this way me, Randy, or any other students can help you.  Just post your question in the right channel.

Read the chapter on Files
Here is a coding assignment.  Run them first, and then start editing these labs.  It should be clear where to make the edits.  Follow the printed or commented instructions.  When you think you are done, turn the link to your programs in to the Google classroom assignment.  You will start using the files I/O operations.  Read the Files chapter in the reference guide.

  • Python - Files Lab #5-#8 - See the Files Lab presentation for labs #5 - #8 where you search for, count and print specific strings. Use the file Zim.txt from my Github
    • Count the string "Zim"
    • Find your name, and print the line it's on
    • Count how many emails there are in the file
    • Print just the emails

              Here is the code we played with last Tuesday.  Look at This Code and read Strings

              Here is a coding assignment.  Run it first, and then start editing these labs.  It should be clear where to make the edits.  You should see sections labeled #1 #2 #3... follow the printed or commented instructions.  When you think you are done turn the link to your program in to the Google classroom assignment.  You will use many string methods, and you will need to read and understand the information found in the Strings reference guide.
              If you started this already maybe you started with this lab... you can keep doing it, but I recommend you to do all the other labs
